Two weeks ago today, the greatest joy entered our lives: Macy. Our daughter decided to make an early appearance (10 days) and came on her own terms (frank breech). The past two weeks have been a blur of sleepless nights and eskimo kisses. She is truly the greatest gift we could have asked for.

Baby Showers

We are so blessed to have the best family and friends in our lives. Ashley hosted a friends baby shower at her home on January 28th and then my family hosted a family shower at the White Bear Country Inn on February 11th. I had such a great time at both - thanks to all that came to celebrate! It's still sort of surreal knowing we'll have a baby girl in our lives in less than two months. To say I'm excited to become a mother and for Sam to become a father is an understatement :)

The Nursery

Here is our nursery! Thanks to my mom and grandma for getting all of the nursery decor for us as Christmas presents. We had the toughest time picking out paint, but I must say, I'm happier than I thought I was going to be with the light lavender color. All we need is a rocker in the corner and a picture frame above the dresser....and obviously, our baby girl to make it complete.

Final trimester is here...

This Sunday marked my official entrance into 3rd trimester. I'm 28 weeks! Sleeping is getting more difficult; it takes a lot of effort to switch positions at night. I literally can't turn over unless I use my foot to help kickstand me over. Let's just say I'm glad I don't have a water bed because I would be stuck. Our little one also likes to give me a thump, thump, thump, pow consistently between 3-5 am. She's definitely getting stronger! I guess this is new sleep schedule, or lack thereof, is great preparation for what's to come in March.

Getting Ready for Baby...

We had our 24-week doctor's appointment yesterday and found out the results from our last ultrasound. Yes, we had to wait a month to find out! She looks to be developing into a perfect, healthy baby girl! We are so thankful that there weren't any possible life threatening complications. Truly blessed.

Over the past couple weeks, I have come to the realization that I should get cracking on the baby nursery. This pregnancy is going so fast; I'm already 6 months! So, over Thanksgiving weekend my mom, grandma and I knocked down the baby registry to-do and I took advantage of the cyber Monday deals and ordered a crib, changing table, etc.

I'm loving the Sweet Songs nursery theme from Carter's paired with white furniture....I hope once I see everything in person, I'll be able to decide on a paint color...then it's just the matter of cleaning out our 2nd bedroom and officially making it into a nursery! Lots of work ahead!

Babymoon: South Beach, Miami & The Bahamas

We just got back from our babymoon (South Beach, Miami & The Bahamas). The first night was awful on the ship. We hit rough waters and it was impossible to walk without grabbing onto something for dear life. That, and my sea bands didn't work any miracles like I thought they would. Besides that first night, we had a good time. A 3-night cruise is just long enough for a first-timer I think. If we were to do it again, I think we'd be a little more picky on the cruise line and ship....and be more mindful of all of the ridiculous prices/fees that are charged (seriously, $10 for a drink?). OR, skip a cruise altogether and just do an all-inclusive.

Oh Baby.....GIRL!

We had our ultrasound on Tuesday and found out we are having a baby girl!!!
